Anthony Caceres

Born into a musical family. My Grandfather Emilio Caceres was a jazz violinist who led his own trio on the Benny Goodman Camel Caravan show and also performed with Harry James, Jack Teagarden and led his own latin orchestra. Also, my Uncle Ernie Caceres played alto-sax, baritone, and clarinet. He was an original member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Woody Herman Thundering Herd. He also peformed with Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Tommy Dorsey and also was a member of the trio that performed on the Benny Goodman radio show. I didn't start playing as a pro till I was 26 years old. So as the old saying goes "never to old to learn". Started off on electric bass at the age of 17. My bass playing was put on hold after a 4 year commitment in the Navy. Spent some time in Houston chasing my tail. Eventually I would switch to playing the acoustic at University of North Texas back in 1999. Finished my degree in Jazz Studies in the summer of 2003. The past 2 years I have spent most of my time on the road with the Glenn Miller Orchestra touring the states and Japan and a tour with the off Broadway production of Miss Saigon. I have also had the great opportunity of performing with the Four Aces, The Greatness of Steve Carter and Little Jack Melody, Freddie Jones, Dennis Dotson, Ed Soph, Marvin Stamm, Bill Mays, Greg Abate and the late great Carl Fontana.
